Founded by an IT leader with three decades of experience across banking, government, higher education, logistics, and railways — bringing world-class digital transformation expertise to organisations across Africa.
Chief Information Officer · Digital Transformation Specialist
Lungi Sangqu is a seasoned Chief Information Officer with over three decades of experience driving digital transformation across some of South Africa’s most consequential institutions. As founder and CEO of Africa Digital Success, she now applies that depth to organisations across the continent — from boards and C-suites to operational IT teams.
Her career spans the Public Sector (Public Service Commission, Department of Social Development, SITA, South African Post Office), Banking (the South African Reserve Bank), Logistics (DHL Express), Higher Education (UNISA, Walter Sisulu University), and Railways (Transnet Freight Rail). She has developed digital and IT strategies and led multi-million-rand IT implementations not only locally but across SADC countries and 49 countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
Trained in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Computer Science with a Master of Business Leadership (MBL), Lungi specialises in turning technology from a cost centre into a strategic asset — and in empowering the people around her to do the same.

I want to help organisations set up proper working IT functions. If you don’t do that, every sector becomes a commercial product instead of a value-creating one.
— Lungi Sangqu, paraphrased from her ITWeb Brainstorm interview, 2016
As Executive Director of ICT at UNISA, Lungi led the digital transformation that brought distance learning fully online — automating applications, registration, on-screen marking, and electronic submission. The IITPSA recognised this work alongside three other finalists for the 2015 Visionary CIO award, celebrating leaders who use technology to fundamentally transform how organisations serve people.
To empower African organisations to harness technology as a strategic asset — not a cost centre. We bring board-level IT leadership and hands-on implementation expertise to organisations that want technology to drive growth, not just keep the lights on.
An Africa where every organisation, from established enterprise to emerging business, has access to the calibre of digital transformation expertise typically reserved for the largest corporates — delivered by people who understand the African context.
